Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.Brain size may be influenced by the cognitive demands of sociality (social brain hypothesis). We used microCT to compare CNS and brain volumes in social versus solitary huntsman and crab spiders. Social huntsman spiders had larger arcuate and mushroom bodies, while social crab spiders had larger visual neuropils.

A Tale of Appendages: Investigating Limb and Tail Variation in Salamanders
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.We analyzed limb and tail proportions in 44% of known salamander species using a phylogenetic comparative approach. Our results revealed significant variation among families and ecological groups, with aquatic species showing longer limbs and basal lineages having shorter tails.

Offspring Defensive Investment Covaries With Brood Value in a Female Cobweb Spider
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.We performed a thorough field investigation on the web architectures of Campanicola campanulata to research its cobweb architecture variation under the condition of whether it carried egg sacs, in order to test the theory of its brood value.
