Effect of Nonsteroidal Anti‐Inflammatory Drugs on Sacroiliac Joint Inflammation, as Seen on Magnetic Resonance Imaging, in Axial Spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Imaging evidence of active sacroiliitis is important for diagnosis, classification, and monitoring of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). However, there is no consistent guidance on whether patients should temporarily stop nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) before magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Highly Active Ni- and Co-Based Bimetallic Catalysts for Hydrogen Production From Ammonia-Borane

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Ammonia-borane is one of the most promising candidates for hydrogen carriers. A series of Ni- and Co-based bimetallic catalysts supported on SiO2 (Ni–M/SiO2 and Co–M/SiO2; M = Ga, Ge, Sn, Zn) was prepared and tested as catalysts for hydrogen production ...

The effect of foot orthoses on midfoot pain and the volume of bone marrow lesions in the midfoot: a randomized mechanism of action study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain and MRI‐confirmed midfoot BMLs.

High sensitivity and high resolution element 3D analysis by a combined SIMS–SPM instrument

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2015
Using the recently developed SIMS–SPM prototype, secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) data was combined with topographical data from the scanning probe microscopy (SPM) module for five test structures in order to obtain accurate chemical 3D maps: a ...

Formal Safety and Security Assessment of an Avionic Architecture with Alloy

open access: yes, 2014
We propose an approach based on Alloy to formally model and assess a system architecture with respect to safety and security requirements. We illustrate this approach by considering as a case study an avionic system developed by Thales, which provides ...

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.

Raetia resumed. Between iconography and context

open access: yesDissertationes Archaeologicae: Ex Instituto Archaeologico Universitatis de Rolando Eötvös Nominatae
This paper’s title, “Raetia Resumed,” is largely intended to reflect the fact that earlier research on the Raetian bronze fragments was interrupted and subsequently resumed by a project entitled Römische Großbronzen am Limes – Fragmente im raetischen ...

A Spatially Resolved View on the Aging Substantia nigra: An Exploratory Proteomic Study

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Although aging is the most important risk factor for several neurodegenerative diseases, the molecular effects of physiological aging are still understudied. By applying spatially‐resolved proteomic analyses of the human substantia nigra pars compacta, alterations in vesicular trafficking and mitochondrial proteins are observed, as well as reduced ...
