Integration of Alloy Segregation and Surface CoO Hybridization in Carbon‐Encapsulated CoNiPt Alloy Catalyst for Superior Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

Advanced Functional Materials, 2023
Constructing an efficient alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalyst with low platinum (Pt) consumption is crucial for the cost reduction of energy devices, such as electrolyzers.

Scandium Alloying of Aluminum Alloys

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 2020
Basic physical metallurgy principles of alloying of aluminum alloys with scandium are considered and the fundamentals of the production of deformed semiproducts from these alloys are discussed. The discussion is based on the expected widening of the range of application of deformed semiproducts from scandium-alloyed aluminum alloys.

Spark alloying of an AL9 alloy by hard alloys

Russian Metallurgy (Metally), 2015
The phase compositions of spark coatings of Kh12M steel with a VT1-0 (titanium) alloy and T15K6 and T30K4 hard alloys are studied. It is shown that the TiC titanium carbide forms in all cases and tungsten carbide decomposes with the formation of tungsten in a coating. These processes are intensified by increasing time, capacitance, and frequency.

Calcium-alloyed magnesium alloys [PDF]

open access: possibleMetal Science and Heat Treatment, 2009
Mg - Al - Ca alloys positioned in the Mg - Al 2 Ca quasi-binary section are studied. It is shown that alloys of this system bearing the Al 2 Ca compound as a hardening phase can be used for developing structural alloys with elevated strength at 170°C and that the strength characteristics of the Mg - Al - Ca alloys can be improved by adding manganese.

Mechanical alloying of Fe-B alloys [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Materials Science, 1992
Mechanical alloying (MA) of Fe-B alloy systems using a conventional ball mill has been performed. The structure change of Fe100−xBx for the composition range 10≤x≤90 has been investigated using X-ray diffractometry, thermal analysis, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Mossbauer spectroscopy.

Alloying of aluminum-beryllium alloys

Russian Metallurgy (Metally), 2013
The existing phase diagrams of Al-Be-X alloys, where X is an alloying element, are analyzed. Element X is noted to poorly dissolve in both aluminum and beryllium. It is shown that the absence of intermetallic compounds in the Al-Be system affects the phase equilibria in an Al-Be-X system.

Properties of alloyed Ni?Be alloys

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1966
1. In Ni−Be spring alloys alloyed with Mo, Mo+B, W, and V the resistance to small plastic deformation increases. 2. The strengthening of Ni−Be alloys containing Mo, W, or V is due to the precipitation of a greater number of particles of the β'-phase because of the decrease in the solubility of Be in the nickel solid solution.
