Dopant‐Tailored Matrices: A Crystal Engineering Strategy for Organic Room‐Temperature Phosphorescent Host–Guest Systems and Beyond

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Rather than selecting dopants to match a pre‐existing host matrix, the dopant‐tailored matrix strategy involves rational engineering of host matrices around a preselected class of dopants by targeting matrix packing motifs that promote synergistic host‐dopant interactions upon doping.

Characterisation of alloys 690 and 52i fabricated using laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
This study presents the first comprehensive investigation into the Additive Manufacture (AM) of nickel-based Alloys 690 and 52i using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), with a view towards application in high-temperature, corrosion-resistant components for ...

Effects of Alloying Elements on the Stacking Fault Energies of Ni58Cr32Fe10 Alloys: A First-Principle Study

open access: yesMetals, 2019
Ni58Cr32Fe10-based alloys, such as Alloy 690 and filler metal 52 (FM-52), suffer from ductility dip cracking (DDC). It is reported that decreasing the stacking fault energy (SFE) of these materials could improve the DDC resistance of Alloy 690.

Oxidation Behaviour of Solution-Annealed and Thermally-Treated Alloy 690 in Low Pressure H2-Steam

open access: yes, 2020
Oxidation experiments were performed on Alloy 690 in a low pressure H2-steam environment at 480 °C to investigate the effects of the microstructure and thermal treatment on the “precursors events” associated with Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking ...

Deterministic Nucleation of Nanocrystal Superlattices on 2D Perovskites for Light‐Funneling Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates the heterogeneous nucleation of CsPbBr3${\rm CsPbBr}_3$ nanocrystal superlattices along the faces of 2D PEA2PbBr4${\rm PEA}_2{\rm PbBr}_4$ layered perovskite microcrystals. Core–crown and core–shell heterostructure morphologies are obtained.

Dissipative Regenerative Chemiluminescence in Water: A Perylene‐Based Out‐of‐Equilibrium Light‐Emitting System

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Driven by sodium dithionite and hydrogen peroxide under mild aqueous conditions, a water‐soluble perylene bisimide undergoes reversible electron‐transfer cycles that generate its emissive excited state without dye decomposition. We define this out‐of‐equilibrium system as chemically fueled regenerative chemiluminescence (CFRCL), opening new avenues for

Biointegrated Multilayer Stretchable OLED Platform With Strain‐Decoupled Architecture for Durable Phototherapeutic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multilayer stretchable organic light‐emitting diode (SOLED) patch enables conformal, high‐fill‐factor phototherapeutic illumination through vertically decoupled electrodes and robust encapsulation. The textile‐based SOLED platform delivers stable skin‐contact red light for wearable phototherapy and 5‐aminolevulinic acid (ALA)‐mediated photodynamic ...

Hexagonal Boron Nitride on Liquid and Single‐Crystal Copper: Operando X‐Ray and Atomistic Insights into Growth and Interfacial Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liquid metal catalysts are widely assumed to promote high‐quality 2D growth. In this work, operando experiments and machine‐learning‐accelerated simulations show that hBN on Cu breaks this graphene‐derived expectation, where molten Cu promotes multilayer/3D growth, but re‐solidified single‐crystal Cu stabilizes monolayer formation.

Dynamic Shear Characteristic and Fracture Feature of Inconel 690 Alloy under Different High Strain Rates and Temperatures

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2013
The high strain shear rate behaviour of Inconel 690 alloy was investigated by using the split Hopkinson torsional bar. The shear strain rates were tested at 900 s−1, 1900 s−1, and 2600 s−1 and at temperatures of −100°C, 25°C, and 300°C, respectively.

A Research of Intergranular Corrosion Sensitivity and Passive Film of Alloy 690

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
The susceptibility to intergranular corrosion (IGC) in 2M H2SO4+0.001M KSCN of alloy 690 under different thermal treatment (TT) has been investigated using double-loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivating (DL-EPR).
