An "Analytic" Version of Menshov's Representation Theorem
Every measurable function f on the circle can be represented as a sum of harmonics with positive spectrum, converging in measure. For convergence almost everywhere this is not true.

Almost everywhere convergence for sequences of continuous functions [PDF]
The main result in this paper is the following theorem. Theorem 1.1. Let { y k } , y k : I → R \{ yk\} ,yk:I \to R , be a sequence of continuous real valued functions defined on the bounded interval I I . Let D

Joint Estimation and Bandwidth Selection in Partially Parametric Models
ABSTRACT We propose a single‐step approach to estimating a model with both a known nonlinear parametric component and an unknown nonparametric component. We study the large sample behavior of a simultaneous optimization routine that estimates both the parameter vector of the parametric component and the bandwidth vector used to smooth the unknown ...

Almost everywhere convergence of series
Let (X,\(\beta\),m) be a probability space and let \(T: L_ 2(X)\to L_ 2(X)\) be a contraction. The series \(\sum ^{\infty}_{n=1}c_ nT^ n\) converges in norm if \(\sum ^{\infty}_{n=1}c_ n\exp (2\pi inx)\) converges uniformly. But also there are many examples of \((c_ n)\) for which \(\sum ^{\infty}_{n=1}| c_ n| =\infty\) and yet the series \(\sum ...

Count Data Models With Heterogeneous Peer Effects Under Rational Expectations
ABSTRACT This paper develops a peer effect model for count responses under rational expectations. The model accounts for heterogeneity in peer effects across groups based on observed characteristics. Identification is based on the linear model condition that requires the presence of friends of friends who are not direct friends.

Almost everywhere continuity of conditional expectations
A necessary and sufficient condition on a sequence ${\{{\mathcal{A}_{n}}\}_{n\in \mathbb{N}}}$ of σ-subalgebras which assures convergence almost everywhere of conditional expectations for functions in ${L^{\infty }}$ is given. It is proven that for $f\in

Dispersion‐Less Dissipative Soliton Fiber Laser
A dispersion‐less fiber laser architecture generates high‐energy, pedestal‐free picosecond pulses without resorting to conventional pulse stretching. This energy‐managed laser achieves remarkable flexibility in pulse parameters, delivering up to 0.54 μJ$\mathrm{\mu}\mathrm{J}$ pulses with minimal spectral distortion using standard telecom components ...

Fast Simulation of Wide‐Angle Coherent Diffractive Imaging
The propagation multi‐slice Fourier transform method is introduced as an accurate and efficient approach for describing light scattering for arbitrarily shaped objects. Its exceptional suitability for simulating coherent diffractive imaging of nanoparticles in the XUV and soft X‐ray range is demonstrated.

Rational points in a family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$
Abstract Serre famously showed that almost all plane conics over Q$\mathbb {Q}$ have no rational point. We investigate versions of this over global function fields, focusing on a specific family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$ which illustrates new behavior.
