In this paper we define and investigate nearly Hurewicz spaces and their star version. It is shown that a nearly Hurewicz space fits between Hurewicz and almost Hurewicz spaces.

On the valuation of economic goods [PDF]
The presented study includes an analysis of the category of “good” on the basis of philosophy and economics. Particular attention was paid here to the factors determining the monetary value (price) of an economic good.

A semifilter approach to selection principles [PDF]
We develop the semifilter approach to the classical Menger and Hurewicz covering properties and show that the small cardinal g is a lower bound of the additivity number of the family of Menger subspaces of the Baire space, and under u< g every subset X ...

A geometry of information, I: Nerves, posets and differential forms [PDF]
The main theme of this workshop (Dagstuhl seminar 04351) is `Spatial Representation: Continuous vs. Discrete'. Spatial representation has two contrasting but interacting aspects (i) representation of spaces' and (ii) representation by spaces.

Products of sequentially compact spaces and compactness with respect to a set of filters [PDF]
Let $X$ be a product of topological spaces. $X$ is sequentially compact if and only if all subproducts by $\leq \mathfrak s$ factors are sequentially compact. If $\mathfrak s = \mathfrak h$, then $X$ is sequentially compact if and only if all factors are

Snow metamorphism: a fractal approach
Snow is a porous disordered medium consisting of air and three water phases: ice, vapour and liquid. The ice phase consists of an assemblage of grains, ice matrix, initially arranged over a random load bearing skeleton.

On some knot energies involving Menger curvature [PDF]
We investigate knot-theoretic properties of geometrically defined curvature energies such as integral Menger curvature. Elementary radii-functions, such as the circumradius of three points, generate a family of knot energies guaranteeing self-avoidance ...

Menger's covering property and groupwise density
We establish a surprising connection between Menger's classical covering property and Blass's modern combinatorial notion of groupwise density. This connection implies a short proof of the groupwise density bound on the additivity number for Menger's ...

Postoperative Sleep Interventions and Cardiac Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis
ABSTRACT Introduction Sleep disturbance is a common issue affecting nearly 78% of cardiothoracic postoperative patients. There are no systematic reviews of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) that evaluate the impact of sleep interventions within this population.
