A Stochastic Model of Noises for Periodic Symbol Sequences
The construction of almost periodic sequences is needed for the analysis of the cycles’ detection methods, identification of symbolic sequences’ features and sensitivity analysis.

Rotation sets and almost periodic sequences [PDF]
We study the rotational behaviour on minimal sets of torus homeomorphisms and show that the associated rotation sets can be any type of line segments as well as non-convex and even plane-separating continua. This shows that restrictions holding for rotation sets on the whole torus are not valid on minimal sets.

Pseudo Almost Periodic Sequence Solutions of Discrete Time Cellular Neural Networks
In this paper we discuss the existence and uniqueness of a k-pseudo almost periodic sequence solutions of a discrete time neural network. We give several sufficient conditions for the exponential and global attractivity of the solution.

Almost periodic solutions of differential equations are more general than periodic solutions, so almost periodic solutions will be studied on a class secondorder differential equations with piecewise constant argument.

Regenerative Shaper of Ultrashort Light Pulses
In this article, we propose and demonstrate an ultrashort light pulse regenerative shaper based on a closed-loop double-stage Mamyshev regenerator with an electrically controllable acousto-optic switch.

Fields of almost periodic sequences
AbstractLet F((x)) be the field of formal power series over the field with two elements F. We classify all quadratic elements in F((x)) which are almost periodic, the Morse-Hedlund sequence being a special case. We also give some results for higher-degree almost periodic elements.

Some Remarks on Almost Periodic Sequences and Languages
Reconstructed source file of a paper originally published in 1995 in a volume currently without an online version (and with limited availability). Uploaded in order to ensure the online availability (and preservation) of the paper. This version faithfully reproduces the original, except for the addition of a note about the solution of Open Problem 3 ...

Triskeles and Symmetries of Mean Global Sea-Level Pressure
The evolution of mean sea-level atmospheric pressure since 1850 is analyzed using iterative singular spectrum analysis. Maps of the main components (the trends) reveal striking symmetries of order 3 and 4.

Forbidden Substrings, Kolmogorov Complexity and Almost Periodic Sequences [PDF]
Assume that for some $α<1$ and for all nutural $n$ a set $F_n$ of at most $2^{αn}$ "forbidden" binary strings of length $n$ is fixed. Then there exists an infinite binary sequence $ω$ that does not have (long) forbidden substrings. We prove this combinatorial statement by translating it into a statement about Kolmogorov complexity and compare this ...

This paper considers an unrelated parallel machine problem with job release times and maintenance activities, in which machines have to periodically undergo maintenance since the status of the machines will be deteriorated by job-induced dirt.
