Biopsychosocial Determinants of Hand Function and Its Trajectories Over Five Years in Patients With Hand Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over five years in primary hand osteoarthritis (OA). Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods A total of 538 patients with both baseline and five‐year study visits were analyzed.

Subharmonic almost periodic functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We prove that almost periodicity in the sense of distributions coincides with almost periodicity with respect to Stepanov's metric for the class of subharmonic functions in a strip {z belongs C : a < Imz < b}.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity With Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included.

Boundedness and almost periodicity for some state-dependent delay differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
This work is devoted to the study the existence and uniqueness of bounded solutions for state-dependent delay differential equations. We also study the existence of periodic and almost periodic solutions.

Real‐World Safety and Effectiveness of JAK Inhibitors in Systemic Sclerosis: A Propensity‐Matched Study From the EUSTAR Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKi) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of systemic sclerosis (SSc). We aimed to assess the safety and explore the effectiveness of JAKi compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the European Scleroderma Trials and Research Group (EUSTAR) cohort was ...

Common asymptotic behavior of solutions and almost periodicity for discontinuous, delayed, and impulsive neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The paper considers a general neural network model with impulses at a given sequence of instants, discontinuous neuron activations, delays, and time-varying data and inputs. It is shown that when the neuron interconnections satisfy an M-matrix condition,

Counterexamples to mean square almost periodicity of the solutions of some SDEs with almost periodic coefficients

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
We show that, contrarily to what is claimed in some papers, the nontrivial solutions of some stochastic differential equations with almost periodic coefficients are never mean square almost periodic (but they can be almost periodic in distribution).

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
