Dynamic Analysis of Stochastic Reaction-Diffusion Cohen-Grossberg Neural Networks with Delays

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2009
Stochastic effects on convergence dynamics of reaction-diffusion Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (CGNNs) with delays are studied. By utilizing Poincaré inequality, constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, and employing the method of stochastic ...

Almost Sure Convergence of Generalized $U$-Statistics

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1977
Almost sure convergence of generalized $U$-statistics and von Mises' differentiable statistical functions is studied with the help of the general $L \log L$ martingale convergence theorem.

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

A note on the complete convergence for sequences of pairwise NQD random variables

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2011
In this paper, complete convergence and strong law of large numbers for sequences of pairwise negatively quadrant dependent (NQD) random variables with non-identically distributed are investigated.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

The Semimartingale Approach to Almost Sure Stability Analysis of a Two-Stage Numerical Method for Stochastic Delay Differential Equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Almost sure exponential stability of the split-step backward Euler (SSBE) method applied to an Itô-type stochastic differential equation with time-varying delay is discussed by the techniques based on Doob-Mayer decomposition and semimartingale ...

Estimation of Star-Shaped Distributions

open access: yesRisks, 2016
Scatter plots of multivariate data sets motivate modeling of star-shaped distributions beyond elliptically contoured ones. We study properties of estimators for the density generator function, the star-generalized radius distribution and the density in a

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Semi-Quenched Invariance Principle for the Random Lorentz Gas: Beyond the Boltzmann–Grad Limit

open access: yesEntropy
By synchronously coupling multiple Lorentz trajectories exploring the same environment consisting of randomly placed scatterers in R3, we upgrade the annealed invariance principle proved in [Lutsko, Tóth (2020)] to the quenched setting (that is, valid ...

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.
