Weak solutions for anisotropic parabolic equations with low-integrability initial data

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
We study an anisotropic nonlinear parabolic equation with initial data u 0 ∈ L r(Ω), for 1 < r < 2, and a general Carathéodory lower-order term. The zero-order term is allowed to grow with a coefficient b(x, t) belonging to a suitable Lorentz space ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Detecting and estimating epidemic changes in dependent functional data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Change point detection in sequences of functional data is examined where the functional observations are dependent. Of particular interest is the case where the change point is an epidemic change (a change occurs and then the observations return to ...

Almost sure uniform convergence of a random Gaussian field conditioned on a large linear form to a non random profile

open access: yesStatistics & Probability Letters, 2019
We investigate the realizations of a random Gaussian field on a finite domain of ${\mathbb R}^d$ in the limit where a given linear functional of the field is large. We prove that if its variance is bounded, the field converges uniformly and almost surely to a non random profile depending only on the covariance and the considered linear functional of ...

Robust Electrocaloric Performance Enabled by Highly‐Polar Frustrated Nanodomains in NaNbO3‐Based Ferrodistortive Relaxor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
P4bm framework in NaNbO3‐Ba(Ti, Hf)O3 ferrodistortive relaxor entails short‐range and highly‐polar ferrodistortive orders. The abundant highly‐polar orders facilitate to increase entropy change, and robust octahedral oxygen tilt enables to impede thermal perturbations.

A Layer-Adapted Numerical Method for Singularly Perturbed Partial Functional-Differential Equations

open access: yesAxioms
This article describes an effective computing method for singularly perturbed parabolic problems with small negative shifts in convection and reaction terms. To handle the small negative shifts, the Taylor series expansion is used.

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Strong uniform convergence of the recursive regression estimator under φ-mixing conditions [PDF]

open access: yes
Suppose the observations (X i , Y i ) taking values in R d ×R, [InlineMediaObject not available: see fulltext.] are φ-mixing. Compared with the i.i.d. case, some known strong uniform convergence results for the estimators of the regression function r(x ...

Local Linear Regression for Functional Ergodic Data with Missing at Random Responses

open access: yesMathematics
In this article, we develop a novel kernel-based estimation framework for functional regression models in the presence of missing responses, with particular emphasis on the Missing At Random (MAR) mechanism.

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...
