Herbicide Cross-Resistance in Slender Foxtail (Alopecurus myosuroides)
The resistance of four populations of slender foxtail from England to chlorotoluron, pendimethalin, and the methyl ester of diclofop was studied in whole-plant spray assays. Two populations showed cross-resistance to all three herbicides while a third showed resistance to chlorotoluron only.

Ecological review of black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) propagation abilities in relationship with herbicide resistance [PDF]
Alopecurus myosuroides Huds. (black-grass) has always been a major concern for cereal growers, and the development of herbicide resistance does not improve the situation.

Population genomics of herbicide resistance in Alopecurus myosuroides
Over the past 50 years, herbicides have often replaced mechanical and manual human weed control, thus representing a major factor in yield productivity in modern agriculture. Herbicide applications, however, exert strong selection pressures on weeds.
