Use of RADARSAT-2 and ALOS-PALSAR SAR images for wetland mapping in New Brunswick

open access: yes, 2014
Our study tests the use of dual-polarized (HH, HV) RADARSAT-2 C-band and ALOS-PALSAR L-band SAR images for mapping wetland areas in New Brunswick. The study also uses LANDSAT-5 TM and DEM data.

Two orders of wall‐to‐wall geographic data

open access: yesArea, Volume 58, Issue 1, March 2026.
Short Abstract The use of the term ‘wall‐to‐wall’ to describe geographically extensive data without any singular definition in the remote sensing and geographically related analysis. This work presents an assessment of the application of the term in the scientific literature. Abstract From personal observations of recent published works, the term “wall‐

Prediction of Hemi-Boreal Forest Biomass Change Using Alos-2 Palsar-2 L-Band SAR Backscatter

open access: yes, 2023
Pairs of fully polarimetric ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 L-band SAR images were used to model biomass on backscatter change over seven growth seasons in a hemi-boreal forest.

Validating habitat suitability assessments with post‐translocation animal movement data

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 3, March 2026.
Wildlife translocations are essential for restoring species to their native habitats, and species distribution models (SDMs) have proven useful for identifying suitable habitats to guide this process. Validating model predictions with data from individual's post‐translocation, however, is rare due to the frequent lack of monitoring data from ...

Coulomb Pre‐Stress Changes Modulate Coseismic Rupture Kinematics of the 2025 Mw7.7 Myanmar Earthquake Revealed by Space Geodesy

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract We estimate the fault geometry and coseismic slip of the 2025 Myanmar earthquake using multi‐source satellite observations, revealing a nine‐segment rupture structure that transitions from eastward‐dipping in the north to westward‐dipping in the south, with peak slip of ∼6 m and negligible shallow slip deficit.

PALSAR wide-area mapping and annual monitoring methodology for Borneo

open access: yes, 2011
This paper describes the operational radar mapping processing chain developed and steps taken to produce a provisional wide-area PALSAR forest and land cover map of Borneo for the year 2007, compliant with emerging international standards (CEOS ...

Lake Unloading Drives Fault Slip and Rift Asymmetry in Southern Tibet

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract The extent to which surface processes drive continental deformation remains a pivotal question in geodynamics. Here, we demonstrate that Late Quaternary lake‐water unloading is a primary driver of fault slip and rift asymmetry in southern Tibet.

Kajian karakteristik backscatter citra ALOS PALSAR pada tegakan hutan tanaman eucalyptus grandis

open access: yes, 2011
This study was performed to identify the relationship beetwen the backscatter of ALOS PALSAR having pixel size of 50 x 50 m and 6,25 x 6,25 m, and the variables of Eucalyptus grandis forest plantation stand. The main objective of the study is to identify
