Inhibition of Calcium‐Dependent Lipid Droplets Relocation of ACSL4‐PKCβ‐ALOX15 Complex Alleviates Ferroptosis and Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
This study identifies L‐type calcium channel blockers as novel ferroptosis inhibitors. It reveals that PKCβ, activated in calcium dependent manner, phosphorylates and activates ACSL4 and ALOX15, relocating them to lipid droplets to promote lethal lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Neutrophils Promote ALOX5-Dependent Breast Cancer Lung Metastasis [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Discovery, 2016
Abstract Neutrophils support metastatic lung colonization via ALOX5-dependent leukotriene synthesis/release.

ALOX5 contributes to glioma progression by promoting 5-HETE-mediated immunosuppressive M2 polarization and PD-L1 expression of glioma-associated microglia/macrophages

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer
Background Oxylipin metabolism plays an essential role in glioma progression and immune modulation in the tumor microenvironment. Lipid metabolic reprogramming has been linked to macrophage remodeling, while the understanding of oxylipins and their ...

Chronic myeloid leukemia-clinical, experimental and health economic studies with special reference to imatinib treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
CML is a malignant disease that originates in the bone marrow stem cell, carrying the Philadelphia chromosome with the BCR-ABL fusion gene. This gene translates into an active tyrosine kinase, Bcr-Abl, affecting hematopoiesis, particularly resulting in ...

A large‐scale single‐cell transcriptomic atlas indicates the immune panorama of influenza A infection

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 5, Issue 2, April 2026.
The study presents a large‐scale single‐cell transcriptomic atlas profiling over 612,010 peripheral immune cells from 97 individuals to decode the heterogeneity of influenza infection. These findings indicate a fundamental immune dichotomy determining clinical trajectories: a protective, monocyte‐centric antiviral state in mild disease versus a ...

Dysregulated signaling, proliferation and apoptosis impact on the pathogenesis of TCRγδ+ T cell large granular lymphocyte leukemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
TCRγδ+ T-LGL leukemia is a rare form of chronic mature T cell disorders in elderly, which is generally characterized by a ...

A blockade of leukotriene-mediated Alox5 function provides a new strategy for the treatment of JAK2V617F-induced polycythemia vera

open access: yesHaematologica
Polycythemia vera (PV) is a hematopoietic stem cell disorder characterized by JAK2V617F, a mutation that gives rise to erythrocytosis. Our previous studies have shown that arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (Alox5) is a critical driver in PV and the inhibition

The impact of short tandem repeat variation on gene expression. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Short tandem repeats (STRs) have been implicated in a variety of complex traits in humans. However, genome-wide studies of the effects of STRs on gene expression thus far have had limited power to detect associations and provide insights into putative ...

Neutrophil-specific deletion of the CARD9 gene expression regulator suppresses autoantibody-induced inflammation in vivo [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Neutrophils are terminally differentiated cells with limited transcriptional activity. The biological function of their gene expression changes is poorly understood.
