TIPE Inhibits Ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer Cells by Regulating MGST1/ALOX5
Molecular Cancer ResearchAbstract TIPE is a protein highly expressed in various cancers that promotes ferroptosis in colorectal cancer cells. Ferroptosis is a nonapoptotic cell death caused by lipid peroxidation, and microsomal glutathione transferase 1 (MGST1) is a critical enzyme that resists lipid peroxidation.

Cross-intolerance to NSAIDs is a class of drug hypersensitivity reaction, of which NSAIDs-induced urticaria and/or angioedema (NIUA) are the most frequent clinical entities. They are considered to involve dysregulation of the arachidonic acid pathway; however, this mechanism has not been confirmed for NIUA.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the highest-grade glioma in astrocytoma. Patients often have poor prognosis due to therapeutic resistance and tumor recurrence. Identification of the genetic factors of GBM could be important contribution to early prevention of this disease. We genotyped 17 tag single-nucleotide polymorphisms (tSNPs) from nine genes in this study,

Genetic and Pharmacologic Targeting Of Alox5 Attenuates JAK2V617F Induced PV In Mice
Blood, 2013Abstract The myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are hematologic malignancies with a chronic clinical course and a risk of developing thrombosis and acute leukemia. JAK2 is a member of the Janus family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases, and the somatic activating point mutation of JAK2 (JAK2V617F) has been found in Philadelphia chromosome-

[Knockdown of Alox5 gene promotes apoptosis of K562/ADM cells].
Xi bao yu fen zi mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of cellular and molecular immunology, 2018Objective To investigate the effect of short hairpin RNA (shRNA) knockdown of arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (Alox5) gene on the apoptosis of resistant chronic myeloid leukemia K562/ADM cells. Methods Three pairs of shRNA fragment targeting human Alox5 gene were synthesized and inserted into pGenesil-1 interference vector.

ALOX5 promoter genotype, asthma severity and LTC production by eosinophils.
Allergy, 2006The number of Sp1-Egr1 binding tandem repeats at the ALOX5 promoter influences gene transcription and may modify the response to anti-leukotriene treatment. The relationship of ALOX5 variants to asthma severity and leukotriene production by eosinophils is unknown. To characterize ALOX5 mRNA expression and cysteinyl-leukotriene production by eosinophils ...
