Nonmulberry Silk Fibroin Doping Boosts Charge Transfer and Charge Injection in Aligned Polypyrrole‐Silk Scaffolds for Low‐Voltage Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Conductive silk‐polypyrrole scaffolds couple redox stability with cell‐affinitive peptides present innately in an endogenous silk fibroin, enabling optimized electrical stimulation to drive neurite outgrowth. Findings establish electrochemical‐biological link for biomaterial design rules for smart nerve guidance conduits that can provide low voltage ...

Utilising Malaysian Fibre in Stone Mastic Asphalt as a Replacement of Imported Fibre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) technology is currently used in many countries. This is a gap grade mix with a high percentage of coarse aggregates. As such there is a tendency for the binder in the gap-graded mix to drain down during the hot weather that ...

Eco‐Friendly Schiff Base Cellulosic Adsorbent for Selective Removal of Cationic Dyes from Petroleum Wastewater: Synthesis, Characterization, and Application

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The porous HMC selectively captures cationic dyes (MB and MG) from contaminated water, transforming dark, dye‐laden effluent into clean water. ABSTRACT Our investigation explores the exclusion of two health‐risk cationic dyes (e.g., Methylene Blue (MB) and Malachite Green (MG)) using a novel hydrazone‐modified cellulose (HMC) adsorbent synthesized via ...

Isolation and identification of Komagataeibacter xylinus from Iranian traditional vinegars and molecular analyses

open access: yesIranian Journal of Microbiology, 2018
Background and Objectives: Acetic acid bacteria (AAB) are one of the major interests of researchers. Traditional vinegars are suitable sources of AAB because they are not undergone industrial process like filtering and adding preservatives ...

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printable Stretchable Pressure Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a carbon‐black‐functionalized double‐network granular hydrogel (DNGH) pressure sensor capable of detecting pressures from 200 Pa, equivalent to a light finger touch, up to 500 kPa. The sensor exhibits signal drifts below 3.5% after 800 cycles and response times around 80 ms. Leveraging this broad sensing range, we 3D print this material into

Trapped Fluorine Enables Thermally Stable Broadband Photodetection in Graphene/Fluorinated Graphene Heterostructure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Fluorinated graphene has opened new opportunities for real‐world applications; however, its working and thermal stability are key issues for practical use. This study successfully demonstrates the stability of a fluorinated graphene‐based photodetector, achieved through a graphene, fluorinated graphene heterostructure (Gr/F‐Gr HS).
