Optimizing Metamaterial Inverse Design with 3D Conditional Diffusion Model and Data Augmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A generative AI model, the 3D conditional diffusion model (3D‐CDM), is introduced to enhance the inverse design of voxel‐based metamaterials. A data augmentation technique based on topological perturbation expands the dataset, further improving generation quality and accuracy.

High‐Performance and Ultrafast Single Germanium Nanowire Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Semiconductor nanowire‐based photodetectors with high sensitivity and fast photoresponse in the near‐infrared wavelength range are crucial for applications in light‐wave communication switches, as well as environmental and atmospheric sensing. Here, the fabrication of an axial p‐n junction along single germanium nanowires and their photoresponse ...

Selective Directional Enhancement in Gold/Perovskite Quantum Dot Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A thin gold layer can selectively enhance the directional radiation of a perovskite quantum dot (QD)1D metasurface by incorporating hybrid plasmonic excitation and redistributing diffraction orders from substrate to cover. The use of template‐assisted self‐assembly techniques enables breakthrough tunability in radiative properties over large areas ...

From Photo‐Damage to Self‐Healing in Thin Film Pb‐Iodide Perovskites: Action at a Distance

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorescence imaging uncovers pronounced spatial and temporal changes in photoluminescence of halide perovskite films following laser‐induced damage. Modifications spatially extend well beyond the illuminated region and evolve over distinct time scales ranging from seconds to many hours, revealing material‐specific self‐healing pathways. These findings

High Sensitivity Spin Defects in Carbon Implanted Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐interstitial spin defects in diamond are fabricated in diamond by high energy carbon irradiation. Along with a systematic characterization of their properties, these spin defects demonstrate high sensitivities surpassing previous studies and coherent manipulation of spin states.
