ABSTRACT Even though stress appraisals determine employees' states and behaviors at work, knowledge of their antecedents is limited. This research project integrates sleep research into the transactional stress theory to explain how sleep, as a key factor shaping employees' resource availability, relates to employees' appraisals of their job demands ...

ABSTRACT Nonverbal synchrony supports therapeutic alliance, yet its role in Gestalt psychotherapy remains underexplored. This manuscript presents the RECiPROsody study protocol, designed to investigate how multimodal interpersonal synchrony between therapists and clients relates to embodied attunement and therapeutic outcomes.

Quantifying user variability in the traditional X‐ray ice‐rafted‐debris counting technique
ABSTRACT The flux of icebergs is most commonly constrained in the palaeo‐record by manually counting gravel clasts in sediment core X‐ray images—a trusted method in Quaternary science and palaeoceanography for nearly 40 years. In this study, we explore the reproducibility (user consistency and between‐user variability) of the traditional clast‐counting

Abstract Energy bars are widely consumed functional foods among athletes and physically active consumers who require convenient sources of sustained energy. Their carbohydrate composition, particularly the type and ratio of digestible sugars such as glucose, fructose and sucrose, strongly influences glycaemic index (GI), postprandial blood glucose ...

A Cross‐Sectional Survey Study Assessing the Quality of Life and Sleep in Spanish Psoriasis Patients
Psoriasis impacts quality of life (QOL) and sleep (QOS), yet dermatology assessments often do not evaluate sleep. The Short‐form health survey (SF‐36) and Pittsburg sleep quality index (PSQI) further investigated patients’ QOL and QOS. Particularly women, unemployed patients, and those that use sleep medications had worse QOS and QOL.

Abstract It is postulated that occipital alpha rhythm in man is not generated in the occipital cortex, but by tremor of the extraocular muscles. It is thought that tremor modulates the corneoretinal potential and this modulation is recorded at the occiput because of the anatomical organisation of the orbital contents within the skull.

Decomposition of posterior alpha rhythm
The classical posterior alpha rhythm has been decomposed into regular and irregular components using orthogonal transformation. A periodicity generator is considered, which has three characteristic control parameters: the periodicity, the amplitudes or scaling factors and the pattern associated with successive periodic segments.
