Prior Expectations Bias Confidence Judgments Through Parietal Alpha‐Band Modulation
ABSTRACT Humans possess the metacognitive ability to estimate the likely accuracy of their own decisions through confidence judgments. Yet, whether prior information shapes confidence and the neural mechanisms mediating such influence, remain to be determined.

Field-Dependence and Voluntary Control of EEG Alpha Rhythm
The relationship of Witkin's dimension of field-dependence to the ability voluntarily to enhance the EEG alpha rhythm was investigated. Field-dependence was assessed by latencies on the Embedded-figures Test.

This diagram illustrates that night shift work disrupts circadian clock genes (like CLOCK, BMAL1) in both humans and mice. This disruption leads to mitochondrial dysfunction (imbalanced fusion/fission proteins) and increased oxidative stress, which is identified as the primary mechanism ultimately causing elevated blood pressure.

Alpha Rhythms in the Hyperkinetic Child [PDF]
HYPERKINESIS is a poorly understood but common disorder of childhood the main features of which are excessive motor activity, a short span of attention, low tolerance of frustration and hyperexcitability, often resulting in learning difficulties and a poor motor performance even where intelligence is normal.

Correspondence of Brightness Enhancement to Cortical Alpha Rhythm
A test was conducted of Bartley's hypothesis that the dominant cortical alpha rhythm is the mediating mechanism for brightness enhancement phenomena. Alpha rhythm samples were obtained periodically on 17 Ss while they adjusted the luminance of a steady ...

This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

A developmentally inspired bioprinting approach enables the fabrication of pluripotent tissues that undergo shape‐morphing and in situ cardiac lineage specification. This method employs embedded bioprinting to deposit iPSCs within soft granular hydrogels to create pluripotent tissue constructs that undergo cell‐mediated shape morphogenesis.

ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHIC MARKERS OF OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE IN MARKSMEN
The goal of the research was a detailed characterization of the pre-shot EEG alpha activity of marksmen. It was found out that the amplitude of the spectrum of alpha activity is dependent upon the level of the sportsmen.

The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.
