ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.

An Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers for Topology Optimization
We consider a class of integer-constrained optimization problems governed by partial differential equation (PDE) constraints and regularized via total variation (TV) in the context of topology optimization. The presence of discrete design variables, nonsmooth regularization, and non-convex objective renders the problem computationally challenging.
