Group homes: alternative to institutions
Social Work, 1978Increasing attention is being paid to group homes as an alternative form of residential care for adolescents. In the home described here, young people who had been recommended for hospitalization or long-term residential treatment were helped by nonprofessional counselors to deal with their problems successfully.

Superlocals in Symmetric and Alternating Groups
Algebra and Logic, 2003Let \(G\) be a finite group and let \(p\) be a prime number. The largest normal \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\) is denoted by \(O_p(G)\). A subgroup \(N\) of \(G\) is called a \(p\)-superlocal in \(G\) if \(N=N_G(O_p(N))\). \textit{M.~Aschbacher} [Proc.

Weight Theory for Alternating Groups
Algebra Colloquium, 2008We use techniques of Okounkov and Vershik to study the ordinary representation theory of the alternating groups without relying on the classical results for the symmetric groups. We classify and construct the simple modules, and study their branching properties.

On the structure of finite groups isospectral to an alternating group
Proceedings of the Steklov Institute of Mathematics, 2011Let~\(G\) be a finite group. The set \(\omega(G)=\{|g|\mid g\in G\}\) is called its spectrum. A finite group~\(H\) is called isospectral to the group~\(G\) if \(\omega(H)=\omega(G)\). Researchers are mostly interested in groups isospectral to finite simple groups. The group \(G\) is called recognizable (by spectrum) if any group isospectral to~\(G\) is
