Objective: To examine whether alternating training with both the non-paretic and paretic sides (alternating bilateral training), expecting trial-to-trial inter-limb transfer of training effects from the nonparetic to the paretic side, improves upper ...

The cohomology of the alternating groups. [PDF]
Let p be an odd prime. The author investigates mod p-cohomology of the alternating group \(A_{p^ n}\). He exploits the fact that in this case the regular representation \(({\mathbb{Z}}/p)^ n\hookrightarrow S_{p^ n}\) in the symmetric group factors through the alternating group.

String C-group representations of alternating groups [PDF]
We prove that for any integer $n\geq 12$, and for every $r$ in the interval $[3, \ldots, \lfloor (n-1)/2\rfloor]$, the group $A_n$ has a string C-group representation of rank $r$ therefore showing that the only alternating group whose set of ranks is not an interval is $A_{11}$.

16-vertex graphs with automorphism groups A4 and A5 from the icosahedron
The article deals with the problem of finding vertex-minimal graphs with a given automorphism group. We exhibit two undirected 16-vertex graphs having automorphism groups A4 and A5.

A poset structure on the alternating group generated by 3-cycles [PDF]
We investigate the poset structure on the alternating group which arises when the latter is generated by $3$-cycles. We study intervals in this poset and give several enumerative results, as well as a complete description of the orbits of the Hurwitz ...

The Relation Between the Alternating Group and Standard Row Young’s Diagrams [PDF]
This study tackles the relationship between the alternating group 14An"> and young’sdiagrams concerning standard rows. The study has been divided into two stages… First, even permutations have been found depending on the conception of partition 14خ¼ ...

Rota–Baxter Operators on Dihedral and Alternating Groups [PDF]
Rota–Baxter operators on algebras, which appeared in 1960, have connections with different versions of the Yang–Baxter equation, pre- and postalgebras, double Poisson algebras, etc. In 2020, the notion of Rota–Baxter operator on a group was defined by L.

The character table of a sharply 5-transitive subgroup of the alternating group of degree 12 [PDF]
We calculate the character table of a sharply $5$-transitive subgroup of $\alter(12)$, and of a sharply $4$-transitive subgroup of $\alter(11)$. Our presentation of these calculations is new because we make no reference to the sporadic simple Mathieu

The Navarro conjecture for the alternating groups [PDF]
Recently Navarro proposed a strengthening of the unsolved McKay conjecture using Galois automorphisms. We prove that the Navarro conjecture holds for the alternating groups when the prime p is odd.

OD-characterization of alternating groups Ap+d
Let An be an alternating group of degree n. Some authors have proved that A10, A147 and A189 cannot be OD-characterizable. On the other hand, others have shown that A16, A23+4, and A23+5 are OD-characterizable.
