Exchange economics as an alternative to distributed optimization [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE 55th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2016
Quadratic optimization subject to linear constraints is a fundamental building-block in many other branches of applied mathematics. However, for large-scale systems, where a common global objective function is neither naturally defined nor easily computable, it is natural to view economic equilibrium theory as an alternative approach to design and ...

Implantable Ionic Memristors Based on Natural Polymer Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report an implantable natural polymer‐based ionic memristor composed of hyaluronic acid, chitosan, and PDMS. The device achieved 98.94% accuracy in MNIST classification while reducing training time by 36.8% compared with a conventional artificial neural network (ANN).

Performance and Architectural Tradeoffs in Scalable Cell-Free Massive MIMO

open access: yesIEEE Access
The massive number of APs is often perceived as a complexity bottleneck for the scalable deployment of Cell-free (CF) systems. In this context, we propose various system-level results and valuable insights on some of the multidimensional design ...

Bio‐Derived Polyelectrolyte Additive–Induced Interfacial Ion‐Diffusion Barriers for Nonvolatile Organic Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sodium alginate regulates interfacial ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. The carboxylate‐rich polymeric network forms a dynamic interfacial ion‐diffusion barrier that facilitates ion injection during programming while suppressing ion back‐diffusion, thereby stabilizing the electrochemically doped channel state.

Optimal Interpretation as an Alternative to Gricean Pragmatics

open access: yesOslo Studies in Language, 2009
The paper introduces an optimality theoretic notion of optimal interpretation based on presupposition theory and shows that it is a viable alternative for Gricean pragmatics. It moreover is directly applicable to presupposition and rhetorical structure and improves the insights in those areas.

Atom Probe Tomography as an Emerging Tool for Understanding Defect‑Driven Mechanisms in HfO2‑Based Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective highlights atom probe tomography as a powerful tool for understanding the atomic‐scale defect chemistry in HfO2‐based ferroelectrics. 3D mapping of dopants, point defects, and interface chemistry can provide new insight into defect‐driven mechanisms underpinning the ferroelectricity in the system and guide the design of more reliable ...

Noise‐Limited Bit Precision in Ferroelectric Synaptic Transistors for High‐Resolution Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐frequency noise spectroscopy defines the resolvable conductance states of synaptic FeFETs by coupling read‐current fluctuation with usable dynamic range. The resulting noise‐limited bit precision establishes a universal, device‐agnostic reliability metric beyond the memory window, enabling quantitative benchmarking and rational design of high ...
