Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

Public investment, distortionary taxes and monetary policy transparency [PDF]

open access: yes
In a two-period model with distortionay tax and public investment, we reexamine the interaction between monetary policy transparency and fiscal bias. We find that the optimal decisions of tax and public investment allow eliminating the effects of fiscal ...

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Multimodal Multiorgan‐on‐a‐Chip Platform for Probing Liver‐Tumor Interactions and Advancing Prodrug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a multimodal multi‐OoC platform that overcomes current limitations in liver‐tumor interaction studies and prodrug screening. By integrating dynamic microfluidic circuits, electrochemical sensing, and mass analysis, this platform enables non‐invasive, longitudinal monitoring of drug metabolism and hepatotoxicity, offering a ...

AN ANALYSIS OF ALTERNATIVE NET PRESENT VALUE CAPITAL INVESTMENT DECISION MODELS [PDF]

open access: yes
We have found that the disagreement between Returns-to-Assets (RTA) and Returns-to-Equity (RTE) proponents is not confined to agricultural economics. Depending on the course they are taking and the accompanying text, students are likely to learn that ...

Liver Kinase B1 in CD11c+ Cells Inhibits Fibrosis in Chronic Pancreatitis via the Oncostatin M Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates significantly reduced Lkb1 expression in CD11c+ cells in chronic pancreatitis (CP) patients and animal models. Lkb1 deletion enhances CD11c+CD206+ macrophage infiltration and reprograms pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) via OSM signaling.

Bidirectional Photoswitching of a Tailored Azobenzene with Red and Far‐Red Light Involving Triplet Sensitization in an Aqueous System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The action spectrum of a tailored azobenzene is shifted toward bio‐optical window through the chemical modification of its singlet and triplet energy levels. Consequently, the bidirectional photo‐switching of azobenzene in physiological conditions is achieved when excited by red and far‐red light, which offers greater tissue penetration.
