Thermodynamic properties for the alternative refrigerants

International Journal of Refrigeration, 1998
Abstract Models commonly used to calculate the thermodynamic properties of refrigerants are summarized. For pure refrigerants, the virial, cubic, Martin-Hou, Benedict-Webb-Rubin, and Helmholtz energy equations of state and the extended corresponding states model are discussed. High-accuracy formulations for 16 refrigerants are recommended.

Abstract The main objective of this work is to enhance the performance of thermoelectric refrigerators by developing an effective heat rejection method for the hot side of thermoelectric modules. Single fan, double fan and natural chimney draft heat rejection alternatives have been tested. The minimum temperature reached is −3°C.
