Attitude stability and altitude control of a variable-geometry Earth-orbiting solar sail [PDF]
A variable-geometry solar sail for on-orbit altitude control is investigated. It is shown that, by adjusting the effective area of the sail at favorable times, it is possible to influence the length of the semi-major axis over an extended period of time.

A high-resolution divergence and vorticity dataset in Beijing derived from radar wind profiler mesonet measurements [PDF]
Low-level convergence and cyclonic circulation are one of the most important dynamic variables in governing the initiation and development of convective storms.

Characterization of a Double Mesospheric Bore Over Europe [PDF]
Observations of a pair of mesospheric bore disturbances that propagated through the nighttime mesosphere over Europe are presented. The observations were made at the Padua Observatory, Asiago (45.9\ub0N, 11.5\ub0E), by the Boston University all-sky ...

Common Visual Representations as a Source for Misconceptions of Preservice Teachers in a Geometry Connection Course [PDF]
In this paper, we demonstrate how atypical visual representations of a triangle, square or a parallelogram may hinder students’ understanding of a median and altitude.

A Pseudopolynomial Algorithm for Alexandrov's Theorem [PDF]
Alexandrov's Theorem states that every metric with the global topology and local geometry required of a convex polyhedron is in fact the intrinsic metric of a unique convex polyhedron.

Stokes tomography of radio pulsar magnetospheres. I. Linear polarization
Polarimetric studies of pulsar radio emission traditionally concentrate on how the Stokes vector (I, Q, U, V) varies with pulse longitude, with special emphasis on the position angle (PA) swing of the linearly polarized component.

Flux of atmospheric muons: Comparison between AIRES simulations and CAPRICE98 data [PDF]
We report on a comparison between the flux of muons in the atmosphere measured by the CAPRICE98 experiment and simulations performed with the air shower simulation program AIRES. To reduce systematic uncertainties we have used as input the primary fluxes

Altitude-dependent polarization in radio pulsars
Because of the corotation, the polarization angle (PA) curve of a pulsar lags the intensity profile by 4r/Rlc rad in pulse phase. I present a simple and short derivation of this delay-radius relation to show that it is not caused by the aberration ...
