Green Synthesis of SnO2/Carbon Composite Anode for Low‐Temperature Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A green synthesis strategy is used to fabricate SnO2 nanoparticles with banana peel extract and convert the leftover biomass into carbon for composite anode materials. The resulting SnO2/hard carbon (7:3) exhibits high‐reversible capacity and excellent cycling stability at subzero temperatures, offering a scalable, eco‐friendly solution for next ...

Thermochromic Radiative Cooling Coatings with Robust Superhydrophobicity for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A scalable, color‐adaptive radiative cooling coating is developed to enable dynamic spectral regulation via a reversible thermochromic transition at ~45 °C and a high solar reflectance of 91.7%. The coating achieves 4.44 °C outdoor sub‐ambient cooling while providing robust superhydrophobicity and environmental durability through its micro/nano ...

Feasibility Study and Optimal Placement of Solar Power Plants Using Binary Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study introduces an integrated optimization framework using a binary genetic algorithm (BGA) for optimal siting and sizing of two solar plants (865 and 739 kWp) in Karaj, Iran. The BGA outperformed conventional methods, achieving a 24.3% reduction in power losses and enhanced voltage stability.

Investigation of the Dynamic Evolution Mechanism of Bed Separation in Karst Aquifers and Risk Assessment of Water Inrush

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study reveals the temporal and spatial evolution law of roof separation under the karst aquifer and the dynamic water inrush mechanism of roof separation. The FAHP–EWM–CRITIC combination weighting method was established to obtain the risk zoning of bed separation water inrush in a karst landform mining area. ABSTRACT Coalfields in northern Guizhou

Vertical differentiation drives the changes in the main microflora and metabolites of carbon and nitrogen cycling in the early freeze–thaw period in the Qinghai Lake Basin

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Global climate change has altered the frequency of soil freeze–thaw cycles, but the response of soil microorganisms to different elevation gradients during the early freeze–thaw period remains unclear. So far, the influence of the altitudinal gradient on

Scientific results of the Bryotrop expedition to Zaire and Rwanda : 3., photosynthetic gas exchange of bryophytes from different forest types in eastern Central Africa. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
During the BRYOTROP-Expedition to Zaire and Rwanda bryophytes were collected from a rainforest habitat at 800 m a.s.l. and from bamboo forest and tree-heath environments between 2200 and 3200 m.

Design of HAWT Rotor for Non‐Uniform Inflow Conditions: A Theoretical and Experimental Approach for Shear Flow

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This paper aims to provide a robust design approach for HAWTs operating in shear flow. This study fills a critical research gap by integrating BEM and vortex theories for blade design in non‐homogeneous inflow conditions. The authors of the paper made an effort to develop and test an experimentally unsophisticated model of a turbine working in shear ...
