Extraordinary reinforcing effect of carbon nanotubes in aluminium matrix composites assisted by in-situ alumina nanoparticles

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2020
Existing aluminium metal matrix composites (Al MMCs) can attain both high tensile yield strength (>500 MPa) and high elastic modulus (>90 GPa) but usually at the expense of tensile strain-to-fracture (~5% or less).

Hot Drilling of Aluminium Matrix Composite

Materials Science Forum, 2011
The aim of this paper is to investigate the behaviour in terms of drilling forces and roughness of Metal Matrix Composites (MMC) in hot drilling machining. In particular, Al2009/(SiC)w, Al6061/(SiC)w, and Al6061(Al2O3)p metal matrix composites were used, and the adopted temperature were in the range 20°C-160°C.
