Amorphous aluminum hydroxide gels
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1986Abstract The gelation of aluminum hydroxide sols obtained from aluminum-sec-butoxide in acidic media leads, depending on the conditions of preparation, to gels with a structure ranging from crystalline to amorphous to super-amorphous. A model for the structure of “super-amorphous” gels is presented to explain the observations.

Acetaminophen–Aluminum Hydroxide Interaction in Rabbits
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1983Acetaminophen-aluminum hydroxide interaction was investigated in a crossover study using six rabbits. Blood samples were collected at various time intervals for up to 6 hr following the oral administration of acetaminophen alone or in combination with aluminum hydroxide. Aluminum hydroxide at a 40-mg/kg dose did not appear to affect the rate and extent

Calcium Citrate Markedly Enhances Aluminum Absorption From Aluminum Hydroxide
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 1991The effect of calcium citrate on intestinal aluminum absorption, assessed by the increment in urinary aluminum excretion, was evaluated in eight normal men. Baseline urinary aluminum excretion was determined for 2 days; thereafter, subjects ingested aluminum hydroxide for 3 days. In a cross-over study, subjects were given either calcium citrate, 950 mg

Evaluation of antacid suspensions containing aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide
American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1982Liquid antacid suspensions containing aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide were evaluated for composition, antacid properties, and product quality. The equivalent aluminum oxide and magnesium hydroxide content was determined by chelatometric titration, and sodium content was determined by flame photometry.

Anion‐Aluminum Hydroxide Gel Interactions
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1977Abstract The interaction of the nitrate, sulfate, and carbonate anion with aluminum hydroxide gel was studied by infrared spectroscopy. A lowering in the anion symmetry due to the interaction with the aluminum hydroxide surface was observed.

Gelation of Aluminum Hydroxide Sols
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1987The gelation of aluminum hydroxide sols obtained from aluminum sec ‐butoxide has been studied as a function of the conditions of preparation, including pH, temperature, and time of aging. The preceding studies of Yoldas have been extended in more acidic conditions, up to a molar proportion of

pH-Stat Titration of Aluminum Hydroxide Gel
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1977The pH-stat titration of aluminum hydroxide gel was evaluated and was affected by pH, temperature, concentration, and ionic strength. Control of these parameters resulted in a highly sensitive and reproducible in vitro antacid test. The utility of the pH-stat test was illustrated by monitoring the aging of several carbonate-containing aluminum ...

Molecular models of aluminum hydroxide
Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, 1991A method is presented for taking into account the boundary conditions in cluster models of crystal structures containing aluminum atoms in the octahedral oxygen environment. The method of modified neglect of diatomic overlap (MNDO) was used to calculate energy and geometric characteristics of molecular models of the elementary layer of the aluminum ...

Intercalation compounds of aluminum hydroxide
Journal of Structural Chemistry, 1999Crystalline aluminum trihydroxides Al(OH)3 (gibbsite, baverite, and nordstrandite) can serve as layered intercalation matrices in which metal salts are arranged in a specific way. Small cations (lithium, magnesium, and transition metals) lie in the octahedral voids of aluminum hydroxide layers, and water molecules are located between the layers.
