Removal of phosphate by aluminum oxide hydroxide

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2003
The development and manufacture of an adsorbent to remove phosphate ion for the prevention of eutrophication in lakes are very important. The characteristics of phosphate adsorption onto aluminum oxide hydroxide were investigated to estimate the adsorption isotherms, the rate of adsorption, and the selectivity of adsorption.

Effect of aluminum hydroxide on fluoride metabolism

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1980
Aluminum inhibits intestinal absorption of fluoride in animals but little information is available about man. To determine whether and to what extent aluminum affects fluoride absorption in man, effects of aluminum hydroxide on fluoride metabolism were studied under controlled dietary conditions. Relatively small amounts of aluminum hydroxide were used

Molecular models of aluminum hydroxide

Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, 1991
A method is presented for taking into account the boundary conditions in cluster models of crystal structures containing aluminum atoms in the octahedral oxygen environment. The method of modified neglect of diatomic overlap (MNDO) was used to calculate energy and geometric characteristics of molecular models of the elementary layer of the aluminum ...

Evaluation of antacid suspensions containing aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1982
Liquid antacid suspensions containing aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide were evaluated for composition, antacid properties, and product quality. The equivalent aluminum oxide and magnesium hydroxide content was determined by chelatometric titration, and sodium content was determined by flame photometry.

Radiolytic Events in Nanostructured Aluminum Hydroxides

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2017
The radiolysis of nanosized Al(OH)3 and AlOOH has been examined. Irradiations were performed using electron beams. H2 radiolytic yields were determined with respect to structure and particle size. The measured yields have an order of magnitude of 10–9 mol J–1, which decreases when particle size is lowered. Surface and structure analysis techniques were

CHEMISTRY OF ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE SUSPENSIONS

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1941
The problem of the chemistry of aluminum hydroxide preparations was originally referred by the Council on Pharmacy and Chemistry to Dr. Victor C. Myers and his associates at Western Reserve University, Cleveland. In 1938 Dr. Myers compared the chemical properties of commercial products then available with a preparation made by a method devised by Dr. I.
