Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Vacuum-deposited aluminum-oxide MOS transistors

open access: yes
The properties of evaporated aluminum-oxide films were investigated. The characteristics of MOS devices made with single-layer aluminum-oxide films and double-layer films which were made by evaporating aluminum oxide over thermally-grown silicon dioxide ...

Sorbent based on aluminum oxide modified with Tiron

open access: yes, 2009
The adsorption of Tiron (disodium 4,5-dihydroxy-m-benzenedisulfonate) on aluminum oxide surface was studied, and optimum conditions for the modification of aluminum oxide surface were determined. The sorption of copper(II) on aluminum oxide modified with

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...
