Solvent-free hydrothermal synthesis of gamma-aluminum oxide nanoparticles with selective adsorption of Congo red.

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2019
Aluminum hydroxide and oxide have been widely used for decontamination due to their environmentally friendly nature and cost effectiveness. Aluminum (hydro) oxides are the main phases of aluminum-derived environment materials.

A novel one-pot biosynthesis of pure alpha aluminum oxide nanoparticles using the macroalgae Sargassum ilicifolium: A green marine approach

Ceramics International, 2018
A novel biological method is proposed for producing ceramic alpha aluminum oxide nanoparticles using an extract of the algae Sargassum ilicifolium. The algal extract functions as a bioreducing as well as a stabilizer agent.

Aluminum–aluminum oxide stylus arm

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985
An improved stylus assembly for a phonograph cartridge is provided. The assembly includes an arm having a jeweled stylus attached to one end thereof. The arm is formed of a hollow aluminum tube which has been anodized so as to form an aluminum oxide skin about the outer surface thereof.

Structure of Aluminum Nitride/Aluminum and Aluminum Oxide/Aluminum Composites Produced by the Directed Oxidation of Aluminum

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1993
Unreinforced AlN/Al ceramic/metal composites were produced by the directed oxidation of molten Al alloys in nitrogen. The microstructures of these composites were compared with those of previously studied Al 2 O 3 /Al composites.

Poly (vinyl butyral)/Graphene oxide/poly (methylhydrosiloxane) nanocomposite coating for improved aluminum alloy anticorrosion

Polymer, 2019
A polyvinyl butyral (PVB)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite coating was prepared via spin coating method to improve the anticorrosion ability of aluminum alloy. Poly (methylhydrosiloxane) (PMHS) has been innovatively applied as anti-corrosion coatings of

Oxide Coatings on Aluminum

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1932
INTEREST in oxid coatings on aluminum began with the discovery of the metal about 100 years ago, for the chemical attraction of aluminum for oxygen is one of the most important characteristics of the metal. At various times in the history of aluminum, attention, from the scientific standpoint or from the commercial point of view, has been focused on ...

Aluminum Oxide Thin Films from Aqueous Solutions: Insights from Solid-State NMR and Dielectric Response

Chemistry of Materials, 2018
Here, we employ a combination of 27Al solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) and conventional spectroscopic and microscopic techniques to investigate the structural evolution of aqueous aluminum precursors to a uniform and smooth aluminum oxide ...

Adsorption study of aluminum oxide monohydrate and ?-aluminum oxide

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1960
1. The thermal conversion of boehmite toγ-alumina was studied by an adsorption method. Detailed structural characteristics of five samples with different H2O contents were determined. 2. The absolute isotherms for the adsorption of argon and nitrogen at −195° and n-C6H14 and C6H6 at 20° were calculated.

Aluminum Ion Diffusion in Aluminum Oxide

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1962
The self-diffusion coefficient of aluminum has been determined in polycrystalline aluminum oxide over the range 1670° to 1905°C. Diffusion couples were employed using aluminum-26 in oxide form as a radioactive tracer. In the temperature range studied, experimental data can be represented by D = 28 exp {—[(114 000±15 000)/RT]}.
