Oxidative stress response to aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles in Triticum aestivum

Biologia, 2018
The development of nanotechnologies has increased the amount of manufactured metal oxide nanoparticles in the environment. In the view of nanoparticle dispersion to the environment, assessment of their toxicity becomes very crucial. Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles have wide range of use in industry as well as personal care products.

Abrasive properties of aluminum iron oxide nanoparticles

Inorganic Materials, 2009
Aluminum iron oxide nanoparticles have been prepared by heat-treating ammonium hydroxycarbonate complexes with the general formula NH4Al2Fe(OH)5(CO3) · nH2O and have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and particle size analysis. The mixed oxide α-Al2 − xFexO3 with x = 0.

Response of UMR 106 cells exposed to titanium oxide and aluminum oxide nanoparticles

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, 2009
AbstractThe cytotoxicity potential of TiO2 and Al2O3 nanoparticles (NP) in UMR 106 cells was studied by evaluating the lysosomal activity with neutral red uptake assay (NR), and the mitochondrial activity with tetrazolium MTT test. Different NP concentrations (10–300 μg/mL range) were used.

Heat-initiated oxidation of aluminum nanoparticles

2015
This dissertation uses multi-million atom molecular dynamics simulations to determine the key mechanisms which control the oxidation of aluminum nanoparticles (ANPs) due to uniform heating. The primary simulation studied is the oxidation of a 46 nm ANP uniformly heated to 1100 K (the melting temperature of aluminum metal is 933 K).

Enhanced photocatalytic activity of electrochemically synthesized aluminum oxide nanoparticles

International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2016
In this study, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized via an electrochemical method. The effects of reaction parameters such as supporting electrolytes, solvent, current and electrolysis time on the shape and size of the resulting NPs were investigated.

Tailoring oxidation of aluminum nanoparticles reinforced with carbon nanotubes

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
In this report, the oxidation temperature and reaction enthalpy of Aluminum (Al) nanoparticles has been controlled by reinforcing with carbon nanotubes. The physical mixing method with ultrasonication was employed to synthesize CNT/Al nanocomposite powders. The micro-morphology of nanoconmposite powders has been analysed by scanning electron microscopy,

Nanoenergetic Composite of Mesoporous Iron Oxide and Aluminum Nanoparticles

Journal of Energetic Materials, 2006
Ordered mesoporous Fe2O3 was synthesized using cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) and polyethylene glycol octadecyl ether (Brij 76) surfactant templates. The gel time was monitored as a function of the concentration ratio of precursor to the surfactant.

Studies on metal oxide nanoparticles catalyzed sodium aluminum hydride

Energy, 2010
Abstract This paper reports the catalytic activity of several metal oxide nanoparticles such as TiO2, CeO2, La2O3, Pr2O3, Nd2O3, Sm2O3, Eu2O3 and Gd2O3 for NaAlH4. TiO2 was found to be the most effective catalyst. In order to find the size dependence of TiO2 nanoparticles on the catalytic activity, TiO2 nanoparticles of different sizes such as 5 nm ...
