Electrophysiological and molecular mechanisms of protection by iron sucrose against phosphine-induced cardiotoxicity: A time course study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The present study was designed for determining the exact mechanism of cytotoxic action of aluminum phosphide (AlP) in the presence of iron sucrose as the proposed antidote.

Managing aluminum phosphide poisonings

open access: yesJournal of Emergencies, Trauma, and Shock, 2011
Aluminum phosphide (AlP) is a cheap, effective and commonly used pesticide. However, unfortunately, it is now one of the most common causes of poisoning among agricultural pesticides. It liberates lethal phosphine gas when it comes in contact either with atmospheric moisture or with hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Boron phosphide as a \emph{p}-type transparent conductor: optical absorption and transport through electron-phonon coupling [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Materials 4, 065401 (2020), 2020
Boron phosphide has recently been identified as a potential high hole mobility transparent conducting material. This promise arises from its low hole effective masses. However, BP has a relatively small 2 eV indirect band gap which will affect its transparency.

Prognostic Factors of Aluminum Phosphide Poisoning in Urmia: A-five-years Cross-sectional Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medical Toxicology and Forensic Medicine, 2021
Background: Aluminum phosphide is a highly toxic fungicide. It causes such severe adverse effects as cardiac arrhythmias, metabolic acidosis, acute renal failure, shock, and even death.

Highly selective dry etching of GaP in the presence of Al$_\textrm{x}$Ga$_{1-\textrm{x}}$P [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys. D: Appl. Phys. 51 (2018) 185203, 2018
We present an inductively coupled-plasma reactive-ion etching process that simultaneously provides both a high etch rate and unprecedented selectivity for gallium phosphide (GaP) in the presence of aluminum gallium phosphide (Al$_\textrm{x}$Ga$_{1-\textrm{x}}$P).

Transmission Enhancement of High-$k$ Waves through Metal-InGaAsP Multilayers Calculated via Scattering Matrix Method with Semi-Classical Optical Gain [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Materials Express, Vol. 5, Issue 10, pp. 2300-2312 (2015), 2015
We analyze the steady-state transmission of high-momentum (high-$k$) electromagnetic waves through metal-semiconductor multilayer systems with loss and gain in the near-infrared (NIR). Using a semi-classical optical gain model in conjunction with the scattering matrix method (SMM), we study indium gallium arsenide phosphide (InGaAsP) quantum wells as ...

A Rare but Potentially Fatal Poisoning; Aluminum Phosphide Poisoning

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine, 2017
Phosphide, a very toxic gas, is used in our country as aluminium phosphide tablets impregnated in clay. It is widely used since it has a very high diffusion capacity, whereby it can eradicate all living creatures in any form of their life cycle and does ...

Mechanical properties of boron phosphides [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Superhard Materials, 41 [2] 84-89 (2019), 2019
Microstructure and mechanical properties of bulk polycristalline boron phosphides (cubic BP and rhombohedral B12P2) have been studied by scanning electron microscopy and micro- and nanoindentation. The obtained data on hardness, elastic properties and fracture toughness clearly indicate that both phosphides belong to a family of hard phases and can be ...

An Epidemiological Study of Aluminum Phosphide Poisoning in Patients Admitted in a Specialized Poisoning Referral Center in Northern Iran [PDF]

open access: yesTaṣvīr-i salāmat, 2011
Background and objectives : In recent decades, aluminum phosphide pills are used for suicide attempts in Tehran and other parts of the country. Aluminum phosphide is a solid inorganic phosphide that because of its involvement in entire the body organs ...
