Surface hydration‐induced damage in tight oil‐bearing sandy conglomerate reservoirs
A series of techniques such as X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive spectroscopy, conductivity tests, and infrared thermal imaging were used. The key findings are the identification of a two‐stage surface hydration process and the elucidation of the effects of various minerals and elements on the hydration process ...

Electronic spin state of ferric iron in Al-bearing perovskite in the lower mantle
We investigate the effect of pressure on the electronic spin state of ferric iron on Al-bearing MgSiO3-perovskite using first-principle computations. Ferric iron (6.25 mol%) and Al ( 6.25 mol%) substitute for Mg and Si respectively.

NF membrane fouling by aluminum and iron coagulant residuals after coagulation-MF pretreatment [PDF]
The effects of coagulant residuals on fouling of a nanofiltration (NF) membrane were investigated. Experiments were carried out with a laboratory-scale microfiltration (MF)-NF setup and a pilot MF-NF plant.
