Early healing of the alveolar process after tooth extraction: an experimental study in the beagle dog.

Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 2013
AIM To describe the early healing events in the alveolar socket during the first 8 weeks of spontaneous healing after tooth extraction. MATERIALS AND METHODS 16 adult beagle dogs were selected and five healing periods were analysed (4 h, 1 week, 2 ...

Degenerative processes in the pathogenesis of pulmonary alveolar lipoproteinosis

Virchows Archiv A Pathological Anatomy and Histology, 1977
Electron microscopy in an infant of 4 months with pulmonary alveolar lipoproteinosis showed filling of the alveoli with osmiophilic lamellar bodies. Similar structures were present in the cytoplasm of type I alveolar epithelial cells and to a lesser extent in the capillary endothelium and interstitium.

Evaluation of the Alveolar Process of Mandibular Incisor in Class I, II and III Individuals with Different Facial Patterns

, 2015
In this study the thickness of the alveolar process was evaluated, and the morphology of the alveolar process of the mandibular symphysis was correlated with the Mesofacial, Brachyfacial and Dolicofacial facial skeletal patterns with Class I, II and III ...

Bone Graft Healing in Alveolar Osteoplasty in Patients With Unilateral Lip, Alveolar Process, and Palate Clefts

The Journal of craniofacial surgery (Print), 2012
Secondary osteoplasty by means of autogenic spongy bone grafting is the most common procedure used in the reconstruction of the continuity of the maxillary alveolar process.

Hybrid Distraction: A Novel Method for Distraction Osteogenesis of the Alveolar Process

The Journal of craniofacial surgery (Print), 2012
Segmental distraction osteogenesis of the anterior alveolar process is a sufficient method to enlarge the alveolar arch. Indications for this method are dental crowding, retroalveolism, and leveling of the curve of Spee.

A Consideration of the Structure of the Alveolar Process, with Special Reference to the Principles Underlying its Surgery and Regeneration

, 1924
Since the illustrious John Hunter (1728-93) declared that "the alveolar processes of both jaws should rather be considered as belonging to the teeth than as parts of the jaws" (7), the general conception regarding that part of the maxillary bones has ...

Alveolar process preservation at implants installed immediately into extraction sockets using deproteinized bovine bone mineral - an experimental study in dogs.

Clinical Oral Implants Research, 2012
AIM To evaluate the soft tissue and the dimensional changes of the alveolar bony crest at sites where deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM) particles, concomitantly with the placement of a collagen membrane, were used at implants installed into ...

Scleroderma of the face with involvement of the alveolar process

American Journal of Orthodontics and Oral Surgery, 1942
Abstract A case of linear scleroderma is reported in which the involved area corresponded roughly to the terminal distribution of the fifth nerve. There was a definite intraoral involvement in the region of the maxillary left first incisor. This consisted of a scarlike appearance of the oral mucosa which covered a depression in the alveolar process ...

Segmental alveolar process fracture involving primary incisors: treatment and 24-month follow up.

Dental Traumatology, 2011
Alveolar process fractures are particularly complicated by the developing jaws, the presence of tooth germs and the eruption of permanent teeth. The present report describes the management and 24-month follow up of a segmental mandibular alveolar process

Tooth irregularity and the height of the alveolar process in skulls

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1973
The interrelationships of a modified Tooth Cervical Height Index (Davies et al. 1969) and tooth irregularity were evaluated on the posterior teeth of 90 skulls. Two readings were made for tooth displacement, rotation, and the Tooth Cervical Height Index for each maxillary and mandibular first bicuspid, second bicuspid, and first molar.
