Alveolar Ridge Augmentation with Ceramics
Journal of Dental Research, 1973Porous calcium aluminate ceramic segments implanted for augmentation of deficient residual mandibular ridges proved clinically, radiologically, and histologically compatible with oral soft and hard tissues after a one year follow-up study.

Alveolar ridge resorption following tooth extraction
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1967F ollowing tooth extraction, the fundic part of the bony socket fills in with connective tissue and bone, while the alveolar crest resorbs. After the wound heals and is covered with epithelium, the edentulous ridge remains.l-lo An important question is whether the center of the resulting residual ridge lies over the center of the original dentulous ...

Rotational autotransplantation of mandibular alveolar ridge
British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2017l r c d f he rehabilitation of edentulous atrophic mandibles with ental implants is often threatened where there has been oss of horizontal alveolar bone. Techniques to augment the one include guided bony regeneration, distraction osteoenesis, ridge splitting osteotomy, onlay grafting with block rafts (autologous or xenograft), or combinations of these.

Alveolar ridge augmentation by distraction osteogenesis
International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2001Distraction osteogenesis is an alternative method for reconstructing atrophic alveolar bone. Fourteen patients underwent vertical alveolar distraction by the LEAD SYSTEM-Endosseous Alveolar Distraction System (Stryker Leibinger, Kalamazoo, MI). An alveolar segmental osteotomy was carried out and the vertical distraction device was mounted.

Alveolar ridge preservation. A systematic review
Clinical Oral Investigations, 2012The objective of this paper is to examine the effect of alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) compared to unassisted socket healing.Systematic review with electronic and hand search was performed. Randomised controlled trials (RCT), controlled clinical trials (CCT) and prospective cohort studies were eligible.Eight RCTs and six CCTs were identified ...

Ulcerated Lesion of the Alveolar Ridge
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1980Histoplasmosis is a generalized fungal infection that is caused by the organism H capsulatum. In the most common disease-producing mechanism, the organism is inhaled and lodges in the lung, where it initiates an inflammatory focus. The peribronchial lymph nodes are subsequently involved, forming a primary complex that may ultimately calcify and become ...

Alveolar Ridge Preservation: A Review
Journal of Dental Science Research Reviews & Reports, 2023A number of changes occur in the alveolar ridge following tooth extraction such as remodeling of bone in the alveolar ridge that can lead to loss of alveolar ridge width and height. Studies have shown that most of the changes occur in the first three months following teeth extraction.

Pulse granuloma of the alveolar ridge
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1979Six examples of pulse granulomas of the alveolar ridge are presented. The lesion consists of a foreign-body granuloma containing identifiable particles of leguminous foods. The vegetable matter is introduced through an alveolar defect, usually a postextraction socket. Simple curettage is apparently adequate treatment to effect cure.

Correction of the Deficient Alveolar Ridge
Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1989The success of a denture is dependent on a good foundation; therefore, construction of the prosthesis begins with extraction of the teeth. The teeth should be maintained as long as possible if they can be restored. When the teeth are extracted, bone resorption usually starts, owing to systemic and local factors.

Bone Loss of Edentulous Alveolar Ridges
Journal of Periodontology, 1979RRR is probably multifactorial process subject to a wide number of covariables. In any given patient, these convariables will be in a unique combination which will determine the rate of RRR for that patient at that time. If the variable change in any given patient, the rate of RRR may change. The dentist who wishes to help his edentulous patient should
