Conventional alveoloplasty versus piezoelectricalveoloplasty- A comparative clinical prospective study

RGUHS National Journal of Public Health, 2020

Indications on suitable scaffold as carrier of stem cells in the alveoloplasty of cleft palate

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2006
summary  Autologous iliac crest bone is used to close the residual alveolar bone defect in cleft palate patients during late mixed dentition. Surgery involves physical and anaesthesiologic risks, long‐time hospitalization, high costs and not always good results (15% failure rate).

[Synthetic calcium phosphate ceramics in secondary alveoloplasty].

Revue de stomatologie et de chirurgie maxillo-faciale, 2012
Bone substitutes are rarely used in the reconstruction of cleft lip and palate. The graft material of choice is cancellous bone, harvested in the hip or tibia. Tibial harvesting may lead to postoperative morbidity, or even complications. This has lead surgeons to develop alternative solution.
