Review of the hydrothermal vent shrimp genus Mirocaris, redescription of M. fortunata and reassessment of the taxonomic status of the family Alvinocarididae (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea) [PDF]

open access: green, 2003
The hydrothermal vent shrimp genus Mirocaris is reviewed. Morphological comparison between the two nominal species in the genus, M. fortunata and M. keldyshi, was made based on the re-examination of the holotype and paratypes of Mirocarisfortunata and the paratypes of M. keldyshi.

Characterization and Comparison of Eye Development and Phototransduction Genes in Deep- and Shallow-Water Shrimp Alvinocaris longirostris and Palaemon carinicauda

open access: yesDiversity, 2022
The investigations of the molecular components of eye development and phototransduction in deep-sea species are important to elucidate the mechanism of their adaptation to dim light.

An Epifaunal Community Succession Sequence Driven by the Biogeochemical Footprint With Different Methane Seepage Intensity of the Deep Seafloor

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 11, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Abstract Methane seepage, generated from natural processes or gas hydrate dissociation, drives the development of cold seep ecosystems and leads to atmosphere methane emission, thereby influencing climate change. Uncovering the intrinsic interactions among methane seepage intensities, biogeochemical processes in the sediment, and benthic community ...
