We have solved the one-dimensional stationary two-fluid hydrodynamic equations for post-shock flows on accreting magnetic white dwarfs simultaneous with the fully frequency and angle-dependent radiative transfer for cyclotron radiation and bremsstrahlung.

Resolving the Periods of the Asynchronous Polar 1RXS J083842.1–282723
1RXS J083842.1−282723 is a nearly synchronous magnetic cataclysmic variable with a simple X-ray light curve. While its orbital period was fairly well established at P _orb = 98.4 minutes from optical spectroscopy, indirect estimates of P _spin / P _orb ...

Circular polarimetry of EXO 033319-2554.2 - A new eclipsing AM Herculis star
This Letter presents circular polarimetry that unequivocally identifies EXO 033319-2554.2 as only the third eclipsing AM Her star and brings the total number of AM Her stars now identified to 14. The orbital period is 126.4 minutes, as previously reported, and defines a new short-period edge to the period gap seen in all classes of cataclysmic variable

Spectroscopic Follow-up on Potential Magnetic Cataclysmic Variables
Spectroscopic observations of nine cataclysmic variables that have been postulated to contain magnetic white dwarfs were obtained to further characterize their classifications, orbital parameters, inclinations, and/or accretion properties.

Irradiated atmospheres of accreting magnetic white dwarfs with an application to the polar AM Herculis [PDF]
We present a pilot study of atmospheres of accreting magnetic white dwarfs irradiated by intense fluxes at ultraviolet to infrared wavelengths. The model uses a standard LTE stellar atmosphere code which is expanded by introducing an angle-dependent ...

Magnetic Interaction in Ultra-compact Binary Systems
This article reviews the current works on ultra-compact double-degenerate binaries in the presence of magnetic interaction, in particular, unipolar induction. The orbital dynamics and evolution of compact white-dwarf pairs are discussed in detail. Models

TESS Observations of Outbursts on Polars—Superflares
Flare events are magnetic activities on the stellar surface, which can provide us with information about the accretion behavior and evolution of polars. In this paper, we search for flare events on polars from all the available 2 minute cadence TESS data

X-Ray and Infrared Analysis on a Faint Polar RX J1745.5-2905
RX J1745.5-2905 is a faint and distant polar below the period gap. It was observed intensively in X-ray by Chandra, and its X-ray data reveal frequent brightness transitions between low and high states like we found in the prototype star AM Her.
