NRASQ61R Expression in Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Causes Enlarged Vessels, Hemorrhagic Chylous Effusions, and High Mortality in a Mouse Model of Kaposiform Lymphangiomatosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Flash flotation of free coarse gold using dithiophosphate and dithiocarbamate as a replacement for traditional amalgamation

open access: yesDyna, 2018
This article develops the flash flotation as an alternative method to gravitational separation and amalgamation in order to achieve a greater recovery of coarse native gold through selective hydrophobicity.

The Resolving Graph of Amalgamation of Cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
For an ordered set W = {w_1,w_2,...,w_k} of vertices and a vertex v in a connected graph G, the representation of v with respect to W is the ordered k-tuple r(v|W) = (d(v,w_1),d(v,w_2),...,d(v,w_k)) where d(x,y) represents the distance between the ...

Saccharinity

open access: yes, 2011
We present a method to iterate finitely splitting lim-sup tree forcings along non-wellfounded linear orders. We apply this method to construct a forcing (without using an inaccessible or amalgamation) that makes all definable sets of reals measurable ...

Pulmonary Dysfunction Is Associated With Sleep Study Abnormalities in Children With Sickle Cell Disease: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Prevalence and Trajectory of Household Material Hardship Among Children With Advanced Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Families of children with advanced cancer living in poverty experience inferior outcomes including poor parent mental health and worse child quality of life. Household material hardship (HMH: food, housing, transportation, and/or utility insecurity) is a modifiable poverty exposure—and potential intervention target—that ...

The Metric Dimension of Amalgamation of Cycles [PDF]

Inpatient Food Insecurity and Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hospitalization Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children with cancer and blood disorders are at risk for food insecurity (FI). We aimed to describe the association of inpatient food insecurity (IFI) and hospitalization outcomes among patients admitted to the pediatric hematology oncology service. Of 325 caregivers screened for IFI, 60 (18.6%) screened positive.

Amalgamation of Transition Sequences in the PEPA Formalism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This report presents a proposed formal approach towards reduction of sequences in PEPA components. By performing the described amalgamation procedure we may remove, from the Markov chain underlying an initial PEPA model, those states for which detailed ...
