The magnetic properties of iron amalgams
Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1937Amalgams of iron and mercury have been prepared by electrolysis and the magnetic properties of the frozen amalgams investigated by the Gouy method. Only very minute quantities of iron can possibly be absorbed before ferromagnetic properties are evident in the amalgams. The iron behaves as if it possesses a specific magnetization of 130 c.g.s.

Regular *-semigroup varieties with the amalgamation property
Semigroup Forum, 2003A regular *-semigroup is a semigroup with involution \(x\to x^*\) such that \(x^*\) is always an inverse of \(x\). Examples include inverse semigroups with the usual inverse as involution. Orthodox and completely simple *-semigroups have also been studied extensively.

Review Selected properties of simple amalgams
Journal of Materials Science, 1989Experimental data on solubility, heat and kinetics of dissolution, diffusion and standard potentials of metals in mercury as well as the rate of the electrode process with an amalgam formation, have been collected and selected. A comparison has been made between the measured and predicted solubilities and heats of dissolution.
