Here, we revise and revalidate the endemic New Zealand genus Urewera Salmon, 1938 stat. rev., providing a new diagnosis and assigning 14 species to the genus. The type species, Urewera fuchsiata Salmon, 1938 comb. rev., is redescribed based on type material and additional specimens from other localities.
