Ecosystems can occupy alternative stable states, maintained by positive feedbacks and critical thresholds. Recovery is often nonlinear, making simple driver reversal insufficient. Effective restoration should target critical thresholds, disrupt degradation‐reinforcing feedbacks and strengthen recovery‐promoting feedbacks.

Response of Tipping Elements to Different Strategies of Stratospheric Aerosol Injection
Stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) has been proposed as a complementary option to mitigate anthropogenic climate change risks. Using Community Earth System Model ensemble simulations, we assess the response of climate metrics relevant to a set of ...

Rarity of monodominance in hyperdiverse Amazonian forests. [PDF]
Tropical forests are known for their high diversity. Yet, forest patches do occur in the tropics where a single tree species is dominant. Such "monodominant" forests are known from all of the main tropical regions. For Amazonia, we sampled the occurrence

Passive Gauze‐Based eDNA Sampler Proves Efficient and Cost‐Effective in the Marine Environment
Here, we present the first empirical comparison of the metaprobe 2.0, a low‐cost, passive eDNA sampler, against an industry standard Sterivex filtration method using dip‐collected 1‐L water samples (“water bottles”). Across 14 joint deployments, we assessed detection and quantification of eDNA of two elasmobranch and two teleost species. While Sterivex

Evaluation of LANDSAT-2 (ERTS) images applied to geologic structures and mineral resources of South America [PDF]
The author has identified the following significant results. Work with the Image 100 clearly demonstrates that radiance values of LANDSAT data can be used for correlation of geologic formations across international boundaries. The Totora Formation of the
