ABSTRACT Flavobacterium spp. are the etiological agents of columnaris disease. Although there is evidence that columnaris poses a significant threat to the farming of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), there remains a large gap in understanding the genetic and phenotypic diversities of columnaris‐causing bacteria (CCB).

Tree stem methane emissions are regulated by site‐level biogeochemistry over species identity in Amazon floodplain forests

Summary Tree stems in Amazonian floodplains emit substantial methane (CH4), yet controls on emission variability remain unclear. Emissions span orders of magnitude between várzea (nutrient‐rich) and igapó (nutrient‐poor) forests and among trees, suggesting controls beyond flooding.

Phylogeny‐based generic delimitations of the diverse leafhopper tribe Gyponini, including the establishment of a new tribe of Iassinae (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae)

Phylogenetic relationships among 97.6% of Gyponini genera and 97.4% of subgenera were inferred using morphological and multilocus molecular data. Analyses support the monophyly of Gyponini, transfer Hoplojassini to Hylicinae and establish Chilenanini trib. nov. within Iassinae.
