Screening and identification of small molecule inhibitors of ErbB2‐induced invasion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 8, Issue 8, Page 1703-1718, December 2014., 2014
ERBB2 amplification and overexpression are strongly associated with invasive cancer with high recurrence and poor prognosis. Enhanced ErbB2 signaling induces cysteine cathepsin B and L expression leading to their higher proteolytic activity (zFRase activity), which is crucial for the invasion of ErbB2‐positive breast cancer cells in vitro.

The Influence of Space Weathering on the Far‐Ultraviolet Reflectance of Apollo‐Era Soils

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Building on our previous studies of the far‐ultraviolet (FUV) reflectance of Apollo soil 10084 and lunar soil simulants JSC‐1A and LMS‐1 (Gimar et al., 2022, https://doi.org/10.1029/2022je007508; Raut et al., 2018, https://doi.org/10.1029/2018je005567), we present new FUV results for Apollo soils 68501 and 71061. Heavily weathered soils (68501,

Invariant Imbedding and the Radiation Transfer in a Plane‐Parallel Inhomogeneous Atmosphere

open access: yesJournal of Astrophysics, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
The invariant imbedding technique is applied to the problems of radiation transfer in a plane‐parallel inhomogeneous atmosphere. All the parameters which describe the elementary event of scattering and the distribution of the energy sources are allowed to vary with depth.

Bi‐Directional Spectro‐Polarimetry of Olivine Sand

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract We characterized the bi‐directional spectro‐polarimetry of olivine sands of varying grain size distributions for a comprehensive set of measurement and illumination angles over a wavelength range of 350–2,500 nm. Our laboratory instrumentation included a hyperspectral goniometer, a broadband linear polarizer, and a tungsten‐halogen ...

A Comprehensive Review: The Evolution of Animal Models in Pulmonary Hypertension Research; Are We there Yet?

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 3, Issue 4, Page 739-756, December 2013., 2013
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a disorder that develops as a result of remodeling of the pulmonary vasculature and is characterized by narrowing/obliteration of small pulmonary arteries, leading to increased mean pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance. Subsequently, PH increases the right ventricular afterload, which leads to right

Bidirectional reflectance distribution function measurements of characterized Apollo regolith samples using the visible oxford space environment goniometer

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 59, Issue 11, Page 3111-3123, November 2024.
Abstract A laboratory study was performed using the Visible Oxford Space Environment Goniometer in which the broadband (350–1250 nm) bidirectional reflectance distribution functions (BRDFs) of two representative Apollo regolith samples were measured, for two surface roughness profiles, across a range of viewing angles—reflectance: 0–70°, in steps of 5°;

Signature of Plausible Accreting Supermassive Black Holes in Mrk 261/262 and Mrk 266

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
We address the neutrino radiation of plausible accreting supermassive black holes closely linking to the 5 nuclear components of galaxy samples of Mrk 261/262 and Mrk 266. We predict a time delay before neutrino emission of the same scale as the age of the Universe. The ultrahigh energy neutrinos are produced in superdense protomatter medium via simple

Application of the Method of Initial Functions to Study Dynamics and Stress Distribution in Structural Members

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
This study investigates plate analyses employing the method of initial functions (MIFs) across various plate geometries and loading conditions. The conclusions derived from thick rectangular plates highlight substantial thickness‐induced effects on deflection and stress distributions.

On the Cosmic Ray‐Induced Ionization Rate in Molecular Clouds

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
The transformation of the energy dependence of the cosmic ray proton flux in the keV to GeV region is investigated theoretically when penetrating inside molecular clouds (Av > 5 mag). The computations suggest that energy losses of the cosmic ray particles by interaction with the matter of the molecular cloud are principally caused by the inelastic ...

Ritchie Dielectric Theory: calculation of the inelastic mean free path, of the differential inverse inelastic mean free path and of the cumulative inelastic probability distribution.

open access: yes, 2018
The code Inelastic_calculation.cpp calculates the inelastic mean free path, differential inelastic mean free path and cumulative inelastic probabilities for an electron travelling in a target material.
