Solvent Extraction of Gallium from Malonic Acid with Amberlite LA-2

open access: yes, 1985
Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay 400 076 Manuscript received 16 August 1983, revised 6 July 1984, accepted 30 August 1984 Gallium was quantitatively extracted with 0.08 M Amberlite LA-2 in xylene at pH 3.0 from 0.01 M malefic acid and stripped from the organic phase with 0.5 M hydrochloric acid and then determined ...

Fluorogenic Sydnones for Bioorthogonal Labeling of DNA

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Conjugates of sydnones with cyanine‐styryl dyes combine bioorthogonal reactivity with fluorogenicity. The reactivity with bicyclo[6.1.0]non‐4‐yne (BCN)‐modified DNA showed second‐order rate constants of up to k2 = 2,300 M−1s−1 and fluorescence turn‐on by one magnitude of order.

Chemically Modular, Nonfluorinated Polymer Adsorbents for Capturing Per‐ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Nonfluorinated polymer networks for PFAS adsorption are synthesized using active ester click chemistry. Incorporating Lewis base ligands along with hydrophilic and hydrophobic co‐monomers leads to high PFOA binding efficiency. Ligand basicity and pH are found to play an important role in PFOA sorption.

The influence of pH and solvent polarity on the mechanism and efficiency of folic acid extraction with Amberlite LA-2

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2005
Studies on the reactive extraction of folic acid with Amberlite LA-2 in three solvents of different polarity (n-heptane, chloroform, dichloromethane), at various extractant concentrations and pH-values of the aqueous solutions, indicated that the pH-value controls the extraction mechanism through the dissociation of carboxylic groups of folic acid ...

Identification of Siderophores With Unexpected Antibacterial Properties From Actinoplanes teichomyceticus

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Here, we report isolation of acyl‐desferrioxamines from Actinoplanes teichomyceticus as a mixture of iron and aluminum complexes. The fraction containing these molecules exhibited antibacterial activity. We synthesized these molecules and found that they only exhibited antibacterial activity in the presence of aluminum.
