Impact of the Humidity on the Structural and Optoelectronic Properties of Triple-cation Halide Perovskite Thin Films [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale and Advanced Materials
Halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) offer exceptional power conversion efficiencies and low-cost fabrication potential, but their sensitivity to environmental humidity remains a major barrier to scalable production.

FastNano Liquid: An Automated Platform for Small‐Angle X‐ray Scattering‐Based Materials Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present FastNano Liquid, an automated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering platform for the combined synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials. The platform is coupled to varied reactor workflows for both in situ studies of reaction kinetics and ex situ screening of synthesis conditions to support machine learning‐guided exploration ...

Improving color uniformity and the ambient contrast ratio of LEDs through the scattering-enhanced magnetic manipulation bilayered structure

open access: yesOptics Express
To address challenges in enhancing color uniformity and ambient contrast ratio (ACR) in RGB light-emitting diodes (LEDs) without losing efficiency, we developed a scattering-enhanced magnetic manipulation (SEMM) bilayer structure. The effect of the TiO 2 scattering layer on improving the LED ...

Effect of Cu and CuP Additions on the Microstructure and Nanoindentation‐Based Fracture Behavior of CoNiAlSi Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cu and combined Cu–P microalloying refine the microstructure and enhance the nanoindentation‐derived fracture resistance of CoNiAlSi ferromagnetic shape memory alloys without suppressing the martensitic transformation. Comparative SEM, DSC, and nanoindentation results reveal that the CuP‐containing alloy provides the most balanced response, achieving ...

The time course of adaptation to spatial contrast [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
We explored the buildup and decay of threshold elevation during and after adaptation to sinewave gratings in a series of experiments investigating the effects of adapting time, adapting contrast, spatial frequency and retinal eccentricity.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Eco-Efficient Alkali-Activated Slag–Fly Ash Mixtures for Enhanced Early Strength and Restoration of Degraded Sites

open access: yesEng
This study explores the early-age performance of eco-efficient alkali-activated slag–fly ash (AASF) mixtures using high-calcium fly ash (HCFA) and low-calcium fly ash (LCFA) at varying alkali activator-to-slag cement (AL/SC) ratios (15%, 20%, and 25 ...

Binocular summation of contrast remains intact in strabismic amblyopia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
PURPOSE. Strabismic amblyopia is typically associated with several visual deficits, including loss of contrast sensitivity in the amblyopic eye and abnormal binocular vision.

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.
