Subject of this study is an investigation of the variations of indoor radon concentration and ambient dose equivalent rate in outdoor and indoor environments of 40 dwellings, 31 elementary schools and five kindergartens. The buildings are located in three municipalities of two, geologically different, areas of the Republic of Macedonia.

Applied radiation and isotopes : including data, instrumentation and methods for use in agriculture, industry and medicine, 2022
In 2020, the International Commission on Radiation Units & Measurements ICRU has released Report 95 on "Operational Quantities for External Radiation Exposure". This publication introduced a new measurand, namely ambient dose H∗, as the operational quantity for external exposure to be applied in the future replacing ambient dose equivalent H∗(10).

Ambient dose equivalent rate in the environment of objects and materials
Proceedings 11th International Conference IcETRAN 2024Measurement of ambient dose equivalent rate in the environment of objects and materials is a dosimetric measurement which is carried out by controlling the radioactivity of goods during import, export and transit. The procedure must be carried out in order to prevent illegal traffic of radioactive and nuclear material across the border.

The nuclide-specific dose rate constant, formerly called gamma ray constant, is one of the most important quantities in practical radiation protection dosimetry. For radiation sources with known radionuclide composition and activity, the expected dose rates at various distances can easily be calculated with reasonable approximations.
