Frequency-frequency correlations of ocean ambient noise levels
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1977The correlation of ambient noise fluctuations in each of seven frequency bands at frequencies f1 with those in other bands (f2) was investigated for a 4 1/2−d period in February 1976 with a hydrophone laid on the bottom in deep water. The bandwidth was generally 6 Hz; band center frequencies ranged from 5 to l50 Hz.

Formulas for ambient noise level and coherence
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1996This paper investigates the various approximations commonly made in noise and noise coherence models and shows that in many cases a very simple ray approach can produce the same answers as full wave treatments such as RANDI-2. The solution presented here takes the form of a single angle integral which is valid for range-independent environments.
