Is Young's Modulus a Critical Coating Property Determining Fouling‐Release Performance of Marine Coatings?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Experimental Study on Airside Mass Transfer Characteristics of Fin-and-tube Heat Exchangers at Low Ambient Pressure

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2021
The airside mass transfer characteristics of two-plate fin-and-tube heat exchangers with different fin spacings were experimentally studied under low ambient pressure and dehumidifying conditions. The experimental conditions comprised an ambient pressure

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Pressure and Temperature Dependence of Optical Resonance Wavelength (ORW) of Large-Element Surface-Micromachined Optical Ultrasound Transducers (SMOUTs)

open access: yesSensors
This paper investigates optical resonance wavelength (ORW) shifts in large-element, fiber-tip surface-micromachined optical ultrasound transducers (SMOUTs) induced by changes in ambient pressure and temperature. The displacement behavior of the SMOUT top

Pressure shift of the superconducting T_c of LiFeAs

open access: yes, 2009
The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the superconductivity in LiFeAs is investigated up to 1.8 GPa. The superconducting transition temperature, T_c, decreases linearly with pressure at a rate of 1.5 K/GPa.

Performance Analysis of Transcritical CO2 Quasi-Secondary Compression Cycle with Ejector Based on Pinch Point

open access: yesDesigns, 2023
To investigate the performance of transcritical CO2 quasi-secondary compression cycle with ejector (TCIEJ) for heat pump water heaters, the thermodynamic model of TCIEJ is established based on the pinch point, and TCEX, TCEJ, and TCI are selected as ...
